Nominigan and Other Smoke Lake Jewels - $20.00 CDN : Summary

Since 1994, Gaye. I. Clemson, a long-time resident of Canoe Lake, has been collecting stories and recollections from fellow Algonquin Park residents in an effort to capture the voices and history of this vibrant community that continues to be an integral part of the historical fabric of this majestic place in northern Ontario. Nominigan and other Smoke Lake Jewels, is the fourth book in her MORE ABOUT series and shares, amongst other stories, the history of Camp Nominigan. Originally built by the Grand Trunk Railway in 1912 and later owned by the Northway and Ebbs families, Nomingan was the social centre on Smoke Lake for over 60 years. In summer Clemson can be found paddling her green cedar strip canoe collecting stories and in winter she resides in Capitola, California with her twin sons.
